Lamp Unto My Feet

Hello Jesus Life Worship

A quiet, candlelit worship song about trusting God's word for the next step rather than the whole road. Sparse and reflective, it is well suited to personal devotion and slow reading of Scripture.

Lyrics

Lyrics

Verse 1

I wanted the whole road shown to me, Every turning, every mile, But you set a little flame in my hand And said, Walk with me a while.

Chorus

One step of light, One word to hold, A lamp for my feet On a road untold; I don't need to see Where the long path bends; Your word is enough Till the journey ends.

Verse 2

There are pages I've read a hundred times That I'm only beginning to hear, And the more that I slow down and listen, The more that your voice comes near.

Bridge

Speak, and I will listen; Shine, and I will go; I don't have to know the ending To trust the One I know.
