Sing along with Jesus, Be My Song, with every word on screen as the pictures move from morning fields and quiet nights to sunrise, rain and open sky.
Jesus, Be My Song is a prayer to let Jesus, not our fears and questions, be the melody of our lives. This lyric video puts every word on screen in time with the recording, so you can sing along at home, with a small group, or in a quiet moment on your own.
The pictures follow the words. The first verse opens on someone writing at a window and a misty road through the hills, then an acoustic guitar in evening light; the choruses move from morning fields into quiet nights under the stars, and in the bridge every line gets its own picture: sunrise, rain, a still lake, storm light over the sea and friends laughing together.
Before the first verse, the video rests on the verse behind the song, Psalm 118:14. You can listen to the studio recording and read the story behind the song on its song page.
“The LORD is my strength and song, and is become my salvation.”
I have sung about tomorrow, I have sung about my fears. I have filled my songs with questions That have followed through the years. But Lord, I want another melody, Something deeper, something strong. Let my heart stop singing only me— Jesus, be my song.
Jesus, be my song, Be the name upon my lips. Be the rhythm of my worship, Be the praise that never quits. God, when everything grows quiet And the night feels long, Let my heart keep singing Jesus— Jesus, be my song.
I don’t need a perfect moment For Your name to rise in me. I can praise You in the ordinary, I can worship quietly. Let Your name become the melody That carries me along. Not only when the music rises— Jesus, be my song.
Jesus, be my song, Be the name upon my lips. Be the rhythm of my worship, Be the praise that never quits. God, when everything grows quiet And the night feels long, Let my heart keep singing Jesus— Jesus, be my song.
Jesus in the sunrise. Jesus in the rain. Jesus in the silence. Jesus through the pain.
Jesus when I’m laughing. Jesus when I’m still. Jesus when I know the answer. Jesus when I never will.
Lord, let every heartbeat Carry this along: Jesus, Jesus, Jesus— Be my song.
Jesus, be my song, Be the name upon my lips. Be the rhythm of my worship, Be the praise that never quits. God, when everything grows quiet And the night feels long, Let my heart keep singing Jesus— Jesus, be my song.
And when every earthly melody Finally has come and gone, I will still have one name singing: Jesus, be my song.
