New Every Morning

Hello Jesus Life Worship

A bright, steady worship song for the start of the day, rooted in the promise of Lamentations that God's mercies are new every morning. It moves from the weight of yesterday to the open hands of today.

Lyrics

Lyrics

Verse 1

The window's grey, the house is still, Yesterday's weight is on my mind, But before I pick up one more care I find your kindness close behind.

Chorus

New every morning, Your mercy comes down Like dew on the meadow, Like light on the town; Faithful forever, You never run dry; New every morning, And so am I.

Verse 2

I've sat among the broken stones, I've wept until the tears ran dry, But there you knelt beside the ruins, And your compassion did not pass me by.

Bridge

Before the sun has cleared the hill, Before I've done a single thing, Your faithfulness has filled the room, And all I have to do is bring An open hand, an open heart, A whispered thank you at the start.
