Light Through the Darkness

Hello Jesus Life Worship

A soaring worship anthem about the light that was shining before the first morning and is still shining now. Built on a slow-rising arrangement that opens from a single piano into a full band, it is written for long nights and the people walking through them.

Lyrics

Verse 1

Before there was morning, before there was day, You spoke over nothing and night moved away; The silence, the shadow, the deep and the cold Were met by a light that will never grow old.

Chorus

Light through the darkness, You're shining still; The night never caught you And it never will. Jesus, my morning, Rise over me; Light through the darkness, Come shine in me.

Verse 2

I've walked in the valley where nothing was clear, I've reached for your hand through the fog and the fear, And there in the deepest, the longest of nights, You came like a lantern and kept me in sight.

Bridge

You were here before the night, You'll be here when it's gone; Every shadow bows to light, Every midnight ends in dawn.
