Lyrics

Verse 1

I didn't choose this valley, I wouldn't have come this way; The shadows here are longer Than any light of day. But somewhere in the darkness I hear a shepherd's tread, And there's a song still rising Where I thought hope was dead.

Chorus

Hallelujah in the valley, Hallelujah in the night; I will lift my voice in the shadow Till the shadow turns to light. You are with me, you are with me, Rod and staff in your hand; Hallelujah in the valley, Hallelujah where I stand.

Verse 2

I used to think the mountain Was the only place you'd be, But down here in the valley You've come closer still to me. You're not afraid of sorrow, You're not ashamed of tears; You walked this road before me, And you're walking with me here.

Bridge

I will fear no evil, I will fear no evil, For the One who made the mountain Walks the valley floor with me.
